In late June I was notified that I had been chosen to participate in a Tryazon giveaway from Bestway.  Tryazon is an amazing company that allows participants to use and review specific products by throwing parties or hosting get togethers during which the product is used.  I was chosen to review a Bestway Inflatable Madrid Saluspa.  This week we filled it up, and tonight we had some family over to give it a go.  I have to say—it is an incredible product!

First, the tub we got, the Madrid, is a smaller model.  It says it will fit four comfortably, but you’d have to be pretty good friends to want to be that close!  We managed three at a time, but for a couple, it would be perfect.  We were able to get the water to a temperate 104 degrees F, and even with many of us in and out, the tub retained the heat. The bubbles were surprisingly strong for a plug and play spa, and it was truly therapeutic for my bad knees.

Set up was a breeze, even though the instructions were sketches only (I would have preferred a narrative), but the online videos helped with a few things about which we had questions.  The unit self inflated using the included pump in less than four minutes.  Filling took about 3 hours, and getting it to the right temp took about 20 hours, with the included cover clipped down.  We then treated the water and added a few submersible lights for ambiance.  All in all, a super easy, stress-free process.

With all the angst we’ve had in our lives, it was lovely to simply relax.  Thanks to Tryazon and Bestway for a wonderful opportunity.

Amazon Throws Down the Gauntlet

And so, like a whiny two year old on the verge of a major meltdown, the powers-that-be at Amazon have crossed their collective arms, stomped their collective feet and, simultaneously, stuck out their bottom lips.  Yes folks, Amazon has taken their toys and gone home, coveting the Vine program as it throws all other honest reviewing sites under the proverbial bus.  But what's that?  A loophole?  Of course!

So Bezos et al have decided that sellers can no longer offer discounts or free products in exchange for reviews.  Seems fairly straight forward, and yet the cracks in this plan are larger than those in Shel Silverstein's sidewalk.   All one needs do to skirt this nifty new policy is to offer the discount, watch for those who don't VOLUNTARILY review and cull them from the reviewing herd.  And yet, something tells me the policy will have a more chilling effect on the reviewing community.

The reality is this--Amazon needs only to crosscheck the promotional codes with the person publishing the review.  Receive a code and write a review and wham, bam, next thing you know you're on the outside looking in, without a single remaining published word on the site.  It doesn't matter that the seller didn't ASK you to write the review.  The upshot is that if Amazon pulls the plug on you, they can SAY you were asked.  Proof?  Who needs it?  Certainly not the head honchos at Amazon.  With a reviewer rank of just over 500, and over 1300 published reviews, someone there got a wild hair and decided I had a personal relationship with a seller.  Which seller?  Who knows!  What kind of relationship?  The kind that made my reviews unacceptable.  The kind that gave Amazonian asshats carte blanche  to summarily dismiss me without even a handshake or severance pay.

So while many of us were handed our hats over the past year, I fear a larger purge is just over the horizon.  I applaud those sellers who are turning to other sites, like Walmart, and entertaining more blogger input and reviews.  I like that they are playing by the rules but remaining proactive and basically saying "fuck you" to the Amazon gods.  I have to voice my distaste, however, for those sellers who are trying to lure honest reviewers like myself by still demanding reviews and offering substantial payouts to break Amazon's TOS.  If Bezos wants to pout and circle the wagons to protect his precious, severely flawed, Vine program, respect the ridiculousness.  It's his company, and nothing speaks to a company guru louder than a loss of business.  Begin to explore other avenues for your products, and those of us who review justly will follow you.

Happy reviewing!

Oh Mr. Coben--You've Now Fooled Me Once

Fool Me Once: A Review
I have to begin by saying that I adore Harlan Coben. Whilst I've read virtually everything the man has ever written, it is perhaps the antics of Myron Bolitar which appeal to me most. The humor in those novels is always beautifully woven into the intricate plot lines, and the pages just seem to turn themselves. Perhaps it is my love of those pieces that prejudiced me when reading Fool Me Once. I just didn't close the book feeling any sense of resolve or satisfaction. The loose ends were certainly tied up; the plot was extremely well written; and the realistic dialogue was typical Coben--fast paced and shot from the proverbial hip. What seemed to pervade every page, however, was an overwhelming sense of despair--a dispiriting shroud of gray that only allowed momentary snapshots of color and substance to bleed through the desolation.
Maya is a recently widowed ex-military pilot who married into a wealthy matriarchal family. She is suffering from PTSD that is fueled by her own guilt, stemming from an incident of which we become aware in bits and pieces as the story progresses. Her mission is no longer of the military variety but rather to unravel the murder of her husband, which incidentally had followed on the heels of her sister's brutal murder.
Each character to whom we are introduced seems to be tainted by death and self-destruction, with the exception of Lily, Maya's daughter. She is the only glimpse of joy we see and the only splash of color in the otherwise monochrome landscape. From Isabella, the nanny, to Maya's sister-in-law Caroline, every single player in this maze of chaos and lies is tainted with character flaws that are predictive of their eventual downfall. At the close of the final chapter, I was left unable to feel any empathy for any of them. They all played a part in the bleak and disturbing climax, when the plot is finally turned on its head and the truth is revealed.
If you're looking for a plot that twists and turns, and you don't mind the lack of any joy, you may really enjoy this. Technically, it certainly reflects the artistry of Coben. If, however, you read Coben for his infusion of humor as well as his ability to tell one hell of a story. you might want to keep looking. I'm still depressed.

Essentials for Your Oils!

This essential oils kit contains everything you will need to get started with aromatherapy--just add the oils! I started collecting and using essential oils last May and quickly acquired a few dozen. I use them for skin care, to add to shampoo, in my diffuser and to clean my kitchen and bath. There are two issues I've had, however, and this kit solves them both. First, I needed a way to pack some oils to take with me when I travel, and second, I needed storage for my larger bottles.

The kit comes with a beautiful wooden hinged box with gold-tone hardware. The box contains twenty five separate compartments to hold bottles, and the latch keeps it closed securely. Also included with the kit are eight 2 ml. bottles for carrying a small amount of oil in each. Those bottles are an amber glass, which prevents deterioration of the oils from light, and have included opening reducers to allow for the oils to be dispensed in small droplets. Eight pipettes allow for easy transfer of oil from larger bottles to the 2 ml. bottles. Finally, there is a zippered key chain in the kit that, when opened, exposes elastic restraints to hold the small vials.

Finally, I am able to use oils in hotels when I'm on business trips, in the car and at work without having to worry about bottles breaking in my luggage or handbag. I also have a beautiful storage option for my oils at home.

Overall, highly recommended! Note that I received a discount on this kit in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Cutlery For Grownups!

The Imperial brand is synonymous the world over with quality cutlery. This nine piece kitchen set accurately reflects that stellar reputation.
First, each of the five included knifes are similar in design and graduated in size. They feature easy to grasp molded and brushed stainless steel handles, and stainless steel blades with an eye-popping granite coating that makes them fabulously non-stick. From the meat cleaver to the paring knife, each piece is sharp and sturdy and slices through food with ease Imperial has also included a heavy duty sharpening rod to keep a razor's edge on each piece of cutlery. They didn't just stop with the knives, however, as they've also included a vegetable peeler AND a pair of durable kitchen shears.

To make this set complete, an acrylic stand is provided upon which the knives can be stored and displayed. The stand consists of a tube to house the sharpening rod, a bracket for the kitchen shears and individual acrylic "blade sleeves" for the knives. It is finished at the base in a polished silver-tone that reflects the beauty of the knives.

This set looks AMAZING in my kitchen, as the granite knives match my counters, and the stand makes a wonderful display. Highly recommended set for the professional or casual cook. Note that I received a discount on this set in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

A Wallet Without The Heft!

This wallet truly exceeded my expectations. My husband is constantly having to fight a thick wallet from the back pocket of his trousers. It's not that the pants are tight, but rather that the wallet is ridiculous! I saw this and knew it was the perfect solution.

First, the leather is BUTTER soft with a beautiful natural grain. The color is a rich rusty brown that looks both professional and sophisticated. All stitching is neat, tight and even, with no loose threads whatsoever. Aesthetically, it just couldn't be more appealing and is the definition of high quality.

The center of this wallet features a gold-finish money clip that snugly holds paper bills and keeps them in place when the wallet is folded. There is a clear window slot on the outside of the wallet (it allows you to see and show your driver's license in a snap) and allows easy access via a cut out portion to push out the card with one finger. If you've ever fought a license out of one of those clear pockets, you will appreciate the access! The inside of the wallet features three slots on either side, each generously sized, and a beautiful embossed logo. Finally, the front has a pouch for a frequently used card.

This wallet came beautifully gift boxed as well, which makes it perfect for the holidays! Overall, highly recommended! Note that I received a discount on this purchase in exchange for an honest review.

Images Voice Activated Recorder--Sometimes You Just Have to Have Fun

So I was asked by a very kind seller to review this voice recorder.  It sounded like an interesting proposition.  I agreed, tested the product and wrote a glowing review.  It's when I decided to add video that things got interesting.  I had a little fun with it, and I got the impression from the seller's response that they were lukewarm to my interpretation.  At any rate, let me know what YOU think!

The GeekPro 2.0--An Action Cam You're Going To Love!

This GeekPro 2.0 is an absolutely amazing little device. It is so powerful and has so many incredible features that it could possibly take a dissertation-length review to cover it all. I do, however, want to share the highlights.

First, the compact size of this cam makes it perfect for on-the-go shooting. It fits in the palm of the hand, and is surprisingly lightweight--a bonus when attached to a helmet. Second, this cam can pretty much do it all--and in HD. It shoots stills, videos, captures photo bursts, and can be set to grab time lapse stills at predetermined intervals. The on-board screen on the rear of the cam allows for crystal clear playback or a viewing screen while shooting--and don't feel intimidated by the "sports" moniker! Even if you don't climb mountains, race at breakneck speeds downhill or jump from airplanes, this cam can still be invaluable to accomplish simple tasks. Grab some video at the kid's next event or activity, film your home for insurance purposes or capture some great footage of your pets--memories may fade, but your videos will last a lifetime! Set the date and time, turn the image upside down, set the photo resolution and choose your sounds--all via an intuitive on screen interface. I love that the wifi connectivity allows me to connect easily to my iPad Air 2, view photos, playback videos and control the cam itself.

Included with the cam is a plethora of accessories. A wrist strap, clips, mounts, a waterproof housing--a whopping 19 (plus the manual) to insure you get the perfect shot each and every time. There's even an extra battery for those long days out when you need more cam time. Add a micro SD card and the world is your oyster.

Highly recommended camera that you will find yourself using every single day. A definite must-have. Note that I received this cam at no charge in exchange for an honest review.

I Want a Roarke

I love JD Robb (aka Nora Roberts) and have read each of the books in the In Death series. I actually look forward to seeing what Eve and Roarke are up to, and I enjoy keeping tabs on Mira, Nadine, Peabody and Mavis. This novel followed suit with previous offerings from Robb in that Dallas once again finds herself at the center of a series of killings. This time the killer is sending messages directly to Eve by leaving her messages on the walls at the crime scenes. Targeted are those whom the killer believes in some way have wronged Eve--and he (or she) is delivering vigilante justice.

The premise is full of potential, and for the most part Robb takes full advantage. The dialogue is pointed and direct, the infused humor is subtle and delivered with dead pan overtones and the characters stay true to personalities Robb has bestowed upon them. For some reason, however, I found the plot to lag a bit. I didn't feel that tension or suspense that generally grabs me with the series, nor did I see much development or growth in any character we've come to know. There were no revelations or epiphanies, and the climax was, for me, rather anti-climatic.

With that said, I still enjoyed the read. Robb is truly a master of the written word, and I enjoy reading just to roll through the brilliant craftsmanship. I'm not sure if that interest, however, is sustainable through any more slow-moving plots.  If this is your first Robb read, don't be discouraged. Pick up an older volume in the In Death series and try again. You won't regret it.  Oh, and if you know a guy who meets the Roarke criteria (gorgeous, wealthy, Irish and devoted). Please leave his address in the comments below.  ;).

I Love a Good Gadget!

I am amazed at the level of technology packed into this LED speaker bulb! First, the bulb is completely controllable from your smart device. There is a QR code on the box, and scanning took me directly to the app in the App Store. Once it downloaded, I paired mine on my iPad Air 2 with zero issues.

The app is multi faceted and would take far more space than I'm allotted here to explain all the features. I will hit on a few, but really, there are so many. The app comes with a full color wheel from which you are able to choose the shade of the illumination. From rich greens to brilliant purples, the choices are infinite. Next, there is a dimming feature that allows for a wide range of brightness settings--a bonus if your fixture doesn't have a dimmer! Aside from simply dimming, you are also able to choose a lighting mode. The bulb can be set to pulse, produce a gradual change of rainbow colors, flash, flicker or keep rhythm to the music. The music is optional, can be played with or without the illuminating features, and anything on your smart device can be pumped through the speaker. The sound isn't necessarily high end, but the bass is decent.

We are having so much fun with this bulb, and I'm hoping the novelty doesn't wear thin. Five big stars for form and function!

The Best of the Best!

So I have only been reviewing for five months--a relative newcomer when compared to those who have been at it for years.  With that said, I've managed to raise my Amazon rank within the top 1500. I've done this by joining and receiving products through Facebook groups that support their members, have wonderful admins and encourage a sense of community.  These groups support cross posting, refuse to engage in unnecessary drama, and are transparent in terms of the rules.  A few even offer members tips on the reviewing process and even recommend other highly respected groups.  Now I know you're curious....just what groups fit these lofty criteria?  I have three I absolutely love, and I'm about to spill the beans.  Whether or not they are accepting members is something you may have to investigate.  If, however, you are offered the opportunity to join any of the three, jump at the chance.

Amazon Select Few

Monica Dillon and Tiffany Lynne Grier Norman are the amazing admins who facilitate this group.  Select Few is more of a "family" of reviewers, and the admins have even linked a separate page where members freely socialize, ask questions and get amazing tips for successful reviewing.  Through this group I've had the opportunity to review curtains, linens, power banks, wigs and even a crown. I've also made some amazing friends.

Simply Exquisite

Lori Marie Timms and Jennifer Fuller rock this group.  Zero drama, great products and a warm and welcoming tone set this group apart.  These ladies are uber organized as well and all forms are easily accessible.  Through this group I've reviewed bakeware, dog toys and even a Bluetooth speaker light bulb.

Amazon Reviewers Crib

I'm new to this group, but even after a few days, I'm super impressed.  Missy Kahles is the only admin I've this far encountered, but Marsha Bwick, Maita Samonte, Biangg Abe, Dona Jaye, Ehsuch Emma and Renzy Greenlee are also listed.  I was approved for a Bluetooth baseball cap by Missy.  The process was so slick, I had to mention it.  Missy keeps a master thread where she posts the names of the winners for each of her promotions.  Once that is posted, she at a designated time calls every winner to a chat.  Winners acknowledge their presence, and when every winner is there and ready to go, Missy asks that the product be added to each person's shopping cart.  Once added, she distributes codes either as a whole group code or individually.  Once the product is ordered, the order number is left in chat.  It was so organized and efficient, and long time members knew the routine.  I was in awe of Missy's organization!  Great group.

*********************

These three are just at the top of my list of favorites.  There are of course many, many more.  Crystal Clear Reviews and Lady Luck are fabulous, and Addicted Reviewers is large but offers limited numbers of some really high end items.   Please feel free to post your own favorites in the comments!

Fabulous Scale for All You Ebayers!

This digital postal scale from Accutek is perfect for anyone who does a lot of shipping. I am an eBay Power Seller and send out dozens of packages a week. When I first started, I would estimate shipping charges on the listing, then take the package the post office for mailing when the item sold. The first time I estimated shipping on an item to be $12.50 and it ended up being over $25, I knew I needed a scale. This Accuteck device has been a money saver! First, this is a platform scale with a raising lid for accuracy on even the most awkwardly shaped items. It will display the weight for anything from .2 oz. to a whopping 50 lbs.--quite an impressive range for a compact scale. All weights are displayed on the brightly back-lit LED screen, making it easy to read in any lighting. I appreciate as well the option for ac or dc power, as I do a lot of fairs and festivals where people want to purchase items and have them shipped. Thus far I've used it on over three dozen purchases, and the weights have been spot on when checked at my local post office. Finally, and this might not be important for everyone, but the scale will display in ounces, pounds or kilograms--truly a bonus in our household as my husband is a Brit and prefers kilograms. Highly recommended for anyone who demands accuracy and quality. Note: I received this scale at no cost in exchange for an honest review.

Stop Settling For Ordinary!

This pair of hand-painted wine glasses by Valentina Paris are simply exquisite.  I so wish my photos could do them justice.

First, these glasses are large red wine glasses with generously sized bowls for allowing the emergence of bold favors and aromas (plenty of room for swirling).  That becomes an important factor, especially with reds.  I, however, would also feel comfortable serving a mousse or trifle out of these! They are just too fabulous to relegate to wine drinking alone.

It is most certainly the large size, coupled with the stunning abstract art, that make these so breath-taking. The artistic curves and waves feature a pale southwestern blend of muted shades that lend this set a rich, sophisticated appeal certain to enhance the aesthetics of any table. I also appreciate that the stems are substantial and elegant, with plenty of space for a firm grasp.

I love these glasses so much that I've added flameless tealights, some wired ribbon and a few flowers to create a stunning centerpiece for our new dining room table. I would love to see a holiday set created!

Overall, I can't recommend these highly enough for form and function.  They're bold statements disguised as glasses!

~note: I received a discount on these amazing glasses in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

The Universe Will Unfold Before You With This Celestron Telescope!

This is first telescope I've ever owned. As such, I'm unable to give any legitimate comparisons. What I can tell you, however, is that since receiving this, our family is suddenly spending more time together and away from the computer, just staring into the skies in awe.

When I first unpacked this unit, I was a little intimidated. It looks so much more complicated than it is! Within ten minutes, however, the entire telescope was assembled, attached to the tripod and ready to take outside to view the gorgeous stars. The 20x included eyepiece brought us closer to them than I ever imagined possible. I'm a city girl, recently transplanted to the country. Whilst I've had the opportunity to experience the flora and fauna, for the first time I was wide-eyed at the beauty above us.

The telescope comes with a "finder scope" to make zeroing in on a particular object easier, both 10mm and 20mm eye pieces, a diagonal for more comfortable viewing, a tripod and amazingly detailed software. All of these pieces fit snugly into the included nylon travel backpack for safe storage and travel.

After using this for a few nights, we decided to order a Celestron t ring and t adapter for my husband's Nikon D5300. We've been experimenting with photographing through the scope and learning so, so much along the way.

Overall, five big gold stars for a product the entire family is enjoying whilst actually learning and having fun in the process.

Note: I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Who Knew Reviewing Could Be So Dangerous?

Many of you already know how the product reviewing system works, but for those who don't, read on as I reveal the high-drama, vindictive and back-biting side of this seemingly benign industry.  I've been reviewing since May and am astounded at some of the things I see.

First, an overview of the system itself.  Some companies have products that are either new to the market or new to them as sellers.  Many choose to discount a number of promotional copies of that product in an effort to accomplish one of two things.  First, the seller may be collecting data regarding quality control of the manufacturer by asking for product testers. Others may use the system to simply promote the product and gain exposure through successful click throughs on Amazon (the reviewer clicks through to the product and then purchases).  These successful click throughs, coupled with positive reviews, can skyrocket the product in standing when search results are returned. Instead of appearing on page ten of a set of search returns, a well promoted quality product can reach page one in short shrift.

So where do the companies find people to purchase and review their promotions?  There are a plethora of places where reviewers congregate and wait for products to appear that might be of interest.  The seller can, in those places, choose to offer a substantial discount on the product or a free item in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.  There are dedicated websites where reviewers apply for these promotion or others where a code is generated on request--a code that will apply the discount at checkout on Amazon.  There are also email groups that will notify subscribers of opportunities available. Alternatively, there are sellers who will reach out directly to reviewers whose experience is reflected in a reviewer ranking number that appears on everyone's Amazon profile.  Some reviewers even "pitch" sellers by touting their expertise and offering to apply that expertise to a review for the company's product.  Each of these delivery vehicles for promotions carry with it some avenues for deceit, but they pale by comparison when viewed alongside the Facebook groups.

Many enterprising entrepreneurs and some highly motivated reviewers take to social media, namely Facebook, to bring together groups of people who enjoy reviewing.  These groups range from a few dozen to literally thousands of members.   The administrators of these groups work with sellers to distribute codes for discounted products.  The administrator agrees to hold the group members to a high standard, which includes the quality of the reviews as well as the time frame in which a review will be posted after the reviewer receives the product.  The seller agrees to provide a limited number of the promoted product in exchange for those reviews.  Here, folks, is where it gets dicey.  Whilst most administrators run tight ships with lots of levity and light hearted banner, there is, believe it or not, a nefarious lot who use the system to their own advantage.

The first issue I've witnessed is one that is due to the power hungry administrator. This is the person who rants, raves, paces and types in all caps.  They shame members for minor infractionss, post unrealistic time frames and then expect complete and total submissive behavior on the part of all members.   "All hail the chief" is the only thing these administrators want to hear.  For the most part, these folks are harmless and, in spite of their hot air, do little damage to the industry as a whole or to individual reviewers.  The next violation is not so impersonal.

The second, and probably most abhorrent, abuse of the system is from a number of administrators and fellow reviewers who use the ranking system on Amazon to terrorize those with whom they do not agree.  First, one needs to understand the convoluted reviewing rank, which is intentionally vague and obscure to prevent abuses.  Every person who reviews is issued a "rank" number.  That number is generally determined by the quality of the review, the number of reviews written and the number of "helpful" votes in a review.   Below every review that appears on the Amazon site there is an option to anonymously click to say whether or not the review is "helpful".  Those clicks translate into what reviewers call "upvotes" or "downvotes".  The percentage of upvotes also appears on a reviewers profile and is calculated into the resulting and all important reviewer rank.  So reviewers often compete to raise their rankings, which can range from in the millions to the coveted top 100 spots.  The better the rank, the more offers that reviewer is likely to receive.

So how is this system of rank used by some dishonest Facebook group administrators? There are dozens of ways, but several are so deceitful they fly in the face of everything positive about human nature.  First, some people create groups and solicit members who then have to fill out sometimes lengthy applications.  One of the required pieces of information is a link to the applicant's reviewer profile on Amazon.  With this link, that admin now has access to every review written by that reviewer.  The reviewer is then removed from the group, and the administrator uses that profile link to downvote as many of that person's reviews as possible and still fly under Amazon's radar.  This eventually hurts the reviewer's rank, thus lowering their number.  This results in a more open field for others to move up the ladder as well as less competition for products reserved for high ranking reviewers.  These same admins will often troll members' Facebook pages (a requirement of joining a group is friending the admin so that they can directly message you with codes) with a specific agenda.

This writer was removed from a group recently for posting memes promoting gay rights. Within one hour of being removed from the group, the downvotes on reviews began flooding in and this reviewer's helpfulness percentage  dropped from 98% to 89% in one evening--a whopping 32 downvotes were recorded over a span of two hours.   The administrators who engage in this manipulative behavior also will solicit equally as immoral friends to join in the downvoting to destroy the reviewer's rank and reputation.

Some have downplayed this entire, ridiculous and potentially hurtful game as being nothing more than a return to the "mean girls" high school mentality and have urged others to ignore it.  The truth of the matter is, however, that some reviewers take the job (yes, job) very seriously.  Many put in long hours writing reviews, producing product videos and looking for new opportunities.  To have that dismissed is disheartening at best, maddening at worst.  Some reviewers, especially those who may be severely disabled, find that the social and intellectual challenges and rewards of reviewing transcend any physical or emotional challenges they face in their every day lives and enjoy the release from those constraints. Others seek to obtain and review items for their homes, and toys for their children, that they otherwise would not have been able to afford.  In these cases, the actions of vile and disgusting people who use their power to destroy can be truly devastating.
This morning I read a well written piece on another blog that just made me sick.  I'm linking it here for your perusal-and to thank the author for her courage.

Screenshot From. Reviews for Moms

The woman named on the blog as the offender is an administrator of a group to which I once belonged and from which I was summarily, and without explanation, dismissed.  The damage this woman is wreaking is incomprehensible.  The fact that she continues to promote herself as a genuine administrator with morals is nauseating.  I'm sure my own reviews have already taken a hit from she and her partners in crime.  I'm lucky and blessed not to have to rely on my hobby reviewing.  I have over 87 downvotes already, some on comprehensive, well done reviews with complex product testing evidence and accompanying reviews.  A few of my reviews appear on latter pages of the product's feedback, and yet have been dug out of the archives for a downvote.  I have to shake my head and wonder why folks have that kind of time to destroy the work I created.  On one hand, I am appalled, whilst on the other I am flattered.  I didn't think I was that important.

Warn your fellow reviewer friends and watch your backs,  tread lightly and choose your groups wisely.  Be careful with whom you socialize and keep your head down.  That is not the kind of interaction I aspire to, however, so as I continue to wear my heart on my sleeve, my rank as reflected here (https://www.amazon.com/gp/profile/A2ZPSTI5M0SZ57) will continue to slip in to oblivion.  Eventually the only products I may be offered are over-stocked selfie sticks.  And I'm ok with that.

This Powerbank Surpasses ALL Others!

This unit is surely considered royalty in the world of portable power banks.  Seriously.  If I were in charge of the portable banks world, I'd make it a king.  A dictator.   In charge of all.  No word of a lie, this mighty charger truly does it all.  First, it has enough of a capacity to complete the charge/discharge process more than 500 times.  Really, what other power bank has that kind of lifetime stamina??  That alone would make it a ruthless ruler.  But wait--there's more!

The block hides quite a few treasures--and does so discreetly. It integrates two built in cables that are tucked securely into the grooves on either side of the unit.  One is a standard USB cord, whilst the other is a micro USB cord (pretty cool, huh?).  On one end is a hidden 30 pin adapter for older Apple products, whilst at the other end is a hidden lightning adapter for current Apple products.  Both pull out easily with a thumbnail and can be placed back in the slots for storage.   YOU NO LONGER NEED TO CARRY FIFTEEN DIFFERENT CABLES FOR YOUR DEVICES. What that translates to is that this little powerhouse will charge anything at any time.  Again, color me impressed!

Thus far, I've charged my husband's Galaxy s5, my iPhone 6, my daughter's iPhone 5s and my iPad Air 2.  I'm happy to report that not a single Apple product threw an error code (hey, thanks Steve for the proprietary interface....I mean honestly, WHY??), and every device charged quickly and to 100%.  How great is THAT?

Overall, five gold stars for an innovative design that truly makes this power bank a jack of all trades--and a ruler that takes no prisoners.

Note:  I received this charging device at no cost in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

The Story of The King's Crown

I'm trying to have a bit more fun with my reviewing as of late--taking on fun products and creating silly videos.  Of course, this latest vid is at my husband's expense.  :).

This king's crown arrived and my husband was less than thrilled, as he knew he would have to model for pics. ;). Whilst the quality control is lacking, it's still a great prop. First, this is definitely sized for adults. It was a little large on my husband. It's constructed of a red flocked fabric and metallic plastic. The jewels are all plastic as well. My biggest complaint is with the glue--it's EVERYWHERE. Strings of glue cover the jewels and the rim of the crown and are virtually impossible to remove. With that said, however, it's effective from a distance! The blues, greens and red in the faux stones are rich and deep and compliment the red of the fabric beautifully. The faux etching on the metallic frame is also intricate and from afar it looks like the real thing.

Overall, keep your expectations realistic and you won't be disappointed!

Rubber Ducky, You're The One!

I love rubber ducks.  No, really,  it just doesn't get any cuter than a little yellow duck with an orange bill floating in and amongst the bubbles in a warm bath in the jacuzzi.  Ok, it does get cuter--try EIGHTEEN little bright yellow rubber ducks! This pack of 18 mini rubber ducks from Kangaroo is just the perfect whimsical addition to a relaxing soak.

Each little duck is an exact replica of the last, down to the perfectly painted eyes and bright yellow color..  These ducks have a drain hole in the bottom as well, perfect for suctioning and spraying water on whomever is within reach. They float smoothly and stay upright unless force is applied, in which case they can be made to capsize.  ;).  These would be terrific for rubber duck races in the pool or on top of a cake as ducky decor.  For me, however, our tub offers the perfect swimming hole.

Highly recommended for the smile factor alone.

Oh, The Horror!

If you've ever we experienced the horror of lost keys, this Key Finder by FindiT will ease your mind that it will never happen again! I own two other key finders that purport to be simple. After struggling through the blue tooth pairing and the battery insertion, I would consider them anything BUT simple. This set, however, is a no-hassle, no set-up, no configuring pair of devices.

You receive in the box two items. The first is a thin, credit card sized transmitter. The second is a palm-sized receiver on a key ring. You simply turn on the transmitter (which will then display a small red light on the edge) and press the marked button. The receiving unit will then light and beep. I'm not just talking about a minor bleep", I'm talking about a loud-enough-to-be-effective beep you will most certainly hear. Pressing the button on the receiver will turn it off.

The transmitter is the perfect size to fit in a wallet, so it's never obtrusive or in the way. The receiver is also small enough not to be burdensome when it's attached to your keys. Five big gold stars from me for a product that worked out of the box and did the job it professed to!

I Love These Curtain Panels On My French Doors!

These curtains are EXACTLY what I'd been searching for--grommeted panels in a rich brown, long enough to cover my French doors.

First, the grommets are large, polished and slide easily over any rod. The fabric of this panel is listed as polyester, which means that these can be tossed into the washer and dryer with no worries. It's also uber soft! All seams are well stitched--even and straight with no loose threads, and the seam under the grommets is double stitched for reinforcement. As you may see in the video, I didn't press these out of the package, but within two days every wrinkle had fallen out. The deep, gorgeous brown matches my rugs perfectly as well.

Five big gold stars from me! I received one in exchange for an honest review and once I saw the amazing quality, I purchased another for my French doors. Highly recommended!
